Franco is from New Jersey. His academic background is in experimental psychology and cognitive neuroscience. In fiction, Franco likes to explore themes of human language, social interaction, emotion, memory, and consciousness.

“No “I” on a First Date” will certainly amuse readers as a clever, gentle satire. Readers’ first impression may be: “Is either or are both of these characters space aliens?!” But then the point comes home: what may be deemed “politically correct” may be a form of courtesy. If so, well and good. But when it becomes an end in itself, when it begins to deform language and impede communication, it becomes ludicrous. The story is definitely a cautionary tale for today!
