Travis Flatt

Travis lives in Cookeville, Tennessee, where he is a teacher and actor. He has a BA degree in English literature from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He has enjoyed success in publishing short fiction.

“The Barn Painting” raises a question of artistic motivation, such as: What may lie within and behind Edvard Munch’s The Scream? Travis’s story does not follow in any way the artist’s own account; rather, it depicts a partly fantastical chain of events that are the results of the artwork’s becoming, itself, the author’s motivation.
