Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Cynthia Lee Sheeler
Cynthia lives in northeastern Ohio, where she works as a corporate recruiter and volunteers at the local animal shelter. She has published several short stories and has completed a novel.
“Coffee Day” takes up a theme that is increasingly common in cultural news: loss by aging. In this century, generations are given numbers, e.g. “Millennials,” or even merely letters, e.g. “Generation Z.” In the past century, generations were given descriptive names: the Greatest Generation, the Silent Generation, the Baby Boomers.
One thing all those generations experienced, if they survived a war, was the loss of family and friends as they aged. That is what readers will see heppening to Helen. And readers will stay with Helen to see how she takes the news.
