Gil Hoy
Gil Hoy is a semi-retired trial lawyer living in Tucson, Arizona. He has degrees in Philosophy, Government and Law from various universities and has studied fiction and poetry. He has published many works of poetry and fiction.
“At the Zoo” inspires the title of Challenge 977. A father and his son are visiting a zoo. They see a family of elephants. The father receives a message that his mother is dying. What can he conclude but that the elephant family has something he lacks. That is the message, but not in so many words.
