Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
John D. Connelley
John lives with his family in Lexington, Kentucky. He has degrees in Psychology and Music Performance and has worked in wheat breeding in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences for more than 20 years.
“A Childhood Memory” is a horror story that will fascinate readers with its depiction of a strange bird that terrorizes a young boy at night with arguments that are by turns cajoling and threatening. The boy faces his fear alone, knowing he will need proof of the predator’s intent — and even of its existence — to bring his parents to his aid. Readers will have questions, but the moral is clear: courage is fear overcome by determination and presence of mind.
