Chariklia Martalas
Chariklia is pursuing a postgraduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Witswatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She has published fiction extensively.
“The Miner and the Opera” paints a stark picture of impoverished workers brought into contact with the opulence of a smug and condescending leisure class. The narrator will show that love and loss have their place in high art regardless of social status.
