Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Robin Ray
Robin Ray is originally from Trinidad & Tobago and lives in Port Townsend, Washington. He has published short fiction and poetry extensively as well as nine novellas and a book of non-fiction and screenplays. He enjoys playing the guitar and keyboard and hiking in the Pacific northwest.
“The Eye of Balance” will intrigue readers with its account of Caracarans, birds of prey who have mysteriously taken on human characteristics. And one of them involves preying on the poor and helpless among humans. Readers may sympathize with young Pelicor: he possesses the talisman Eye of Balance, which makes him aware that his society has gone very wrong. And they may wish his sacrifice were not the only way to redress the balance.
