Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Michael R. Burch
Michael is the editor of The HyperTexts and is international poetry editor for Better Than Starbucks. His poems have been translated into many languages, and some have been set to music. His articles and poems have appeared in many prestigious publications and in astronomical numbers. Such a prodigious output has caused a Review Editor to remark, “Either Mr. Burch is twice as old as anybody else or he doesn’t sleep nights.”
The poem Todesfuge is Paul Celan’s masterpiece or at least one of them. In almost 75 years since it first appeared, it has been translated many times. Bewildering Stories is proud to feature Michael Burch’s version as a dire warning of what lies at the bottom of the slippery slope that begins with abandoning democracy and justice. In today’s world, greed, cynicism or apathy may seem less dangerous than fascist ideology. They are not.

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Mike. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
