Jen Durbent

Jen lives in the Midwest U.S.A. with her wife, children and a lot of cats. And Jen says she doesn’t stickle about pronouns. Jen has written a novel and a poetry collection, which are available on line.

“Your Walls Can Talk” starts out funny, with a reference to Mad Magazine as an early influence on Ada, a single mother who has lost a boyfriend. A weird computer app enables her to converse with her household furniture and even with the walls.

But the walls tell her she has been overlooking more important conversations, namely with the people closest to her. Readers will do well to take the story as a wake-up call in this era of all-engrossing social media.
