It matters not
how rich or poor,
the curse of time
devours us all.
Our yearnings, dreams,
aspirations,
are left behind
at finality.
For those who believe
in an afterlife,
they may find comfort
at pre-boarding.
Only goodwill,
resolution,
allow the rest of us
to depart cheerfully.
