Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Tim Miller
Tim is a teacher and parent. As a writer, he concentrates on humor as well as sports medicine.
“The Spoons of Jupiter” is a serial complete on line as of the first instalment. Readers will eventually find that the first-person narrator’s name is Tom Bedlam, which is borrowed from a well-known English poem. The poem says that Tom will “do no hurt,” and neither does Tim’s character. On the contrary, Tom is quite intriguing. An orphan and a misfit in some ways, he recounts a routine day of “high-school hell.” One would expect Tom to be self-absorbed, but he is the opposite of boring: he is keenly observant of the menagerie of teachers and fellow students surrounding him. He worries about graduating from high school, but his astronomy project reveals that he is actually a very good student and could find a rewarding future for himself as a teacher.
