I Will Eat the Ocean

I will eat the ocean
and fill myself with waves.
I will swallow coral reefs
and tidal pools
until salt weeps
through my veins.

Instead of speech
words in bottles will
pop out my mouth.
They will float, alone and lost,
to find a foreign shore.

Typhoons will whip
inside my lungs
but killer whales
dive deep.

Abyssal depths
will reach my toes
and fill me with
strange lights.
