Fabrice B. Poussin

Fabrice teaches French and English at Shorter University. He has written novels and published poetry extensively. His photography has appeared in hundreds of publications.

“Dante Dream” provides sinister images such as “forgotten carcasses on a country road” and “the air frigid with infinite darkness.” The title suggests a dream, but the imagery is not dreamlike. It is not auditory but visual, tactile and, primarily, olfactory. Readers may be more likely to interpret the poem as a sad waking vision.
