Stephen Harrod Buhner

Stephen lives in New Mexico, where he is a full-time writer. He has published extensively in non-fiction and poetry and has only recently begun writing prose fiction.

“The Death of Annie One-Horse” will intrigue readers with its portrayal of Annie, an aged practitioner of indigenous healing. The accounts of Annie’s visions have a hypnotic quality. Readers will have various points of view about the efficacy of magic in medicine, but they will all agree on its ultimate purpose as a statement of cultural identy, one that does not exclude compassion for others.
