Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Craig Cormick
Craig lives in Australia but has traveled the world in his occupation as an author and science communicator. He has published prolifically: over 100 short stories and 20 books.
“Cook Loses His Heart to the Native Girls” portrays a variant of Capt. James Cook, who was eaten by cannibals in the Hawaiian islands. The story is set on another planet in an alternate universe and has parallel actions. The captain goes on a mission to find out what the natives are doing while his astronomer, Solander, who is something of a science communicator himself, is busy trying to decipher the warnings implicit in the natives’ legends.
At least the natives are complimentary; their final message seems to be: “Send more Cook!”
