Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Geoffrey C. Porter
Geoffrey has a career in developing computer-based war games. He’s been writing since 2003 and has just begun marketing. He has written eight books and manages an on-line fiction magazine.
“Dead Man’s Hill” is a comic romp about a middle-schooler or young high-schooler who is fresh to Kansas from San Francisco. Culture shock gives him a strange point of view: anybody who’s kindly or friendly must be smoking pot.
The boy’s experience with the hills of San Francisco makes him overconfident about bicycling at breakneck speed through three traffic lights. Will he impress Jessica? The video recording of his feat will certainly attract the attention of the local police.
