Bewildering Stories welcomes...
R. C. Capasso
R. C. lives on wooded land in Ohio. She likes to visit “reputedly haunted sites.” No sightings to report yet, but the classics of horror as well as writing flash and longer fiction keep up expectations as well as goose bumps!
“In the Economy of Life” is not a horror story. Rather, it is report on the Baleg, space aliens who, as aliens will, have curious birth and burial customs. The curiosity stems from the fact that birth and burial always coincide, and the moribund offer a kind of cultural handshake to the newborn.
The problem is that one of them, “Blank,” never got the proper acculturation, and that poses problems for all the Baleg. But everyone, space alien or human, can agree with the Balegs’ conclusion.

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, R. C. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
