Joy lives in Portland, Oregon, where she enjoys brewing beer and running. She has published fiction and poetry extensively and edited a volume of a literary review.

“Pongo” tells the story of Jake, who is emotionally estranged from his parents and has moved far away. He is annoyed by their repeated entreaties to return home for a last visit before his mother dies. And yet the family pet, the dog Pongo, holds a special place in his heart.
