Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Neil Armstrong
Neil lives with his family in Kent, England. He‘s written short stories for the past twenty years but only now has the time to begin completing them.
“The Golden Tears” will probably appeal primarily to a young adult audience at home with video games; indeed, the story is ideally suited to a “graphic” presentation with captioned image panels. The story also makes a nod to a current hot topic that has been attracting new writers recently, namely schoolyard bullying.
Jacob, the hero of the story, recalls to a certain extent Billy Batson, who stumbles into an abandoned subway tunnel and discovers the magic word “Shazam,” which turns him into Captain Marvel (created in 1939). However, Jacob finds that being a superhero is not all it’s cracked up to be and that the force has its dark side.
