Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Paulette Smythe
Paulette is a teacher and lives in Melbourne, Australia. She characterizes the city as “cloaked in civility” and is yet “a place of paradox and mystery.” Paulette tries to capture the mystery of “extraordinary things going on below the surface of ordinary life.”
“Simon’s Spectacles” certainly depicts an ordinary occurrence: someone forgets his reading glasses and leaves them on a café table. The narrator picks them up and puts them on — and begins to see strange things.
