Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Tendai R. Mwanaka
Tendai Mwanaka has achieved world-wide notice for his writings, especially about the political situation and life in Zimbabwe. He has published over 200 pieces of prose, poetry and visual art in many different publications around the world and has been nominated for many awards.
“In This Sea” is a short poem evoking loneliness and nostalgic longing for a pastoral landscape. The imagery is strange and yet haunting, for example: “in the cup of this moon”; “toll sighs”; “The white wind neighing above this sea.” Seen from afar, the images are foreign and have the flavor of another language. And yet their content is unmistakable.Tendai R. Mwanaka’s bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Tendai. We’re looking forward to your other poems on the schedule!
