“Pioneer” is a prose poem dialogue between “Jacob” and “Alex.” The interlocutor Alex may be male or female, which may not matter. Jacob is by far the less calm of the two and depicts himself as a “lunatic in Ireland.” The poem invites the reader to search for the secrets of the relationship between Jacob and Alex.
