Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Mark Rosenblum
Mark Rosenblum is a native of New York but now lives in Southern California. His fiction has been published widely.
“Hue People” presents a world in which people have widely different skin colors: green, red, blue, orange, gray, and perhaps more. Skin color determines each individual’s social and occupational caste, with the “Greens” being at the bottom of the heap.
But skin color may change abruptly overnight, arbitrarily and with no prior symptoms. As a consequence, society is in a perpetual state of turmoil. People have to change jobs suddenly. They must also cast off old friends and accept old enemies as new friends from one day to the next. And everyone has to check anxiously in the mirror every morning to verify his own identity.
