Beth J. Whiting

Beth lives in Mesa, Arizona and says she comes from “a large family of brainy eccentrics.” Her short stories revolve around “underdogs in suburban settings.”

“Gertie and the Zombies“ tells the story of Gertie, a zombie — or zombie-like vampire — who comes stumbling out of a graveyard and realizes she needs to get a job. As she meets people and makes friends, she rediscovers a love of 1950’s-era films, most of which are romances, especially ones starring Doris Day. Vombies and zampires just don’t seem to interest her very much.
