Karen B. Kaplan

Karen works in New Jersey as a hospice chaplain. She’s writing an accunt of her experiences with patients and their families — all anonymous, of course. This is her first venture into fiction.

“Upward Spiral” poses the dilemma of an interdimensional explorer, Iris Perle, who is herself unobservable in the Upward Spiral dimension but wishes she could somehow make contact with her subject, the sculptor Clara. The process will bring both observer and observed, though intangible to each other, to realizations of their own.
