Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Halsted M. Bernard
Halsted lives in Edinburgh and has degrees in English and Library & Information Science. She says she likes to read and write “around the edges” of themes and genres. Her favourite stories are ones that pose puzzles with patterns and hints rather than “answers.”
“The Kettle and I” certainly fits Halsted’s literary taste: the story provides clues that it is set in a dystopia where the elderly are outcast and systematically done away with. But the story is not Logan’s Run redux; it’s about love and care for the aged, for without it, why would anyone even want to be young?
