Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Kathleen Rohr
Kathleen is an attorney and has spent several years as a volunteer representing Haitian refugees seeking political amnesty. She has published articles on refugees and human rights issues in law review journals. And she has visited Haiti on several occasions.
“No Place to Roost” is set in Haiti at the time of the presidential election in 1989. It has the action and description of a short story, the point of an essay and the true to life air of a memoir. It’s very hard to decide which is more appropriate, but in view of Kathleen’s qualifications and the serious topic, I think we’ll choose memoir. It exemplifies one of our mottoes: “There is no story so truly bewildering as reality.”
