Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Cherry Rao
Cherry has graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a double major in Fine Arts and English Studies. She’s currently working in art gallies and in art education. In literature, her first love is poetry.
Coincidentally, “I Called You My Butter Cookie” has some things in common with Mike McGonegal’s “Cold Searing Strings,” also in this issue. Both are love poems, each in its own way, and both use interleaving patterns. “Butter Cookie” uses them at the level of the word whereas “Strings” interweaves parallel narratives at the level of the phrase. The result is not song lyrics, but both poems might be eminently singable.

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Cherry. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
