Nathaniel Johnson

Nat Johnson is a life-long New Englander. He’s produced programs for WGBH radio, in Boston, and has worked with Orson Welles. In New York City, he read scripts for various producers and then moved into the record industry, where he became head of reissues at RCA. His work in recording was nominated for a Grammy. Nat has also written novels, screenplays, and short stories.

“The Innkeeper’s Daughter” has the ghosts requisite for any shoreline inn on the coast of Maine. And it is a horror story: it might serve as an almost literally fire-breathing example of corporate cynicism, an attitude that leads to the cultural blight described in Jane Jacobs’ Dark Age Ahead. At the end, Sarah panics and shows concern for faithful Rosy, but her efforts to save Rosy from the cataclysm are misguided, and Sarah’s change of heart is too little, too late.
