John teaches high school English and creative writing in the area of Baltimore, Maryland. He enjoys writing and often joins his own students in completing the assignments he gives them.
“The Seventh One” experiments with the rare second-person point of view. Other contributors will be interested in other techniques in the story as well, especially the ways in which it engages the imagination of the reader. A post-apocalypse setting is implied, and the succession of “Ones,” the last of which is supposed to bring salvation of some sort, has a mysterious meaning for the tribe who has captured the survivor of a crash. The reader is also required to surmise what will happen when the buttons are finally pushed...
