Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Jeremy Poolet
Jeremy’s bio sketch is something of a Bewildering Story all in itself. You really should read about the “dispirited lake monster,” the clowns and spiders, and the giant cockroach, as well as his eventful return to the Catskills.
“Sand Castle” is a mixture of flash fiction and prose poetry that invites the reader to supply a cause for the effects depicted. The story can be read any number of ways: in the Romantic era, it might have been read as a symbolic expression of existential angst in the presence of an absent-minded — if not entirely absent — deity. Today, interpretations may take darker and ultimately less satisfying turns.

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Jeremy. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
