Gabriel Timar

Gabriel has had a fascinating career. He started with studies in civil engineering in Budapest and came to Canada after the 1956 uprising. Since then, he’s worked as a consulting engineer and U.N. environmental advisor all over the world. He’s now retired as chair of the Engineering Department at Seneca College, in Toronto.

In addition to manuals and textbooks, Gabriel has also published two science fiction novels in English, and a third is pending. He has also published three novels in Hungarian, with a fourth pending.

“The Military Mind” is basically a set of autobiographical anecdotes collected during Gabriel’s travels. They bear out one of Bewildering Stories’ unofficial mottoes: “There is no story so truly bewildering as reality.”
