Pete’s occupational background would seem to give him material aplenty for mysteries and spy thrillers, among other kinds of stories. And yet poetry seems to be Pete’s favorite genre; he’s published many poems in print and on line. “Bonsai,” a poem in a kind of haiku style, is an image of fate that is at once beautiful and sinister.
