Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Steve Douglas
Steve Douglas is a pen name. That’s quite all right, Steve: one of the founders of Bewildering Stories is known only as “The Invincible Spud,” and his real name is a tightly-guarded secret. In fact, I don’t even remember exactly what it is... But “Steve Douglas” is the name by which you shall be forever known here. And if you ever forget who you are, don’t ask us; we won’t remember that, either!
Anyway, Steve adds to our hardy Washington state contingent of contributors and editors. He mentions the Okanogan Highlands, which would seem to put him in the vicinity of Danielle L. Parker and a little ways north of Jerry Wright.
Steve modestly denies having the bizarre careers that many writers have had (say what? Wallace Stevens was an insurance salesman, and a well-known science fiction writer — I forget who, offhand — was a Social Security clerk). He does mention pizza cook, security guard, IBM mainframe data specialist and work in aerospace manufacturing. That’s quite Bewildering enough, even if there weren’t still more!
And you say the members of your local writers’ group all write better than you? Hah! Send — or, rather, bring — them to us! Of course, they’ll have to equal or top “Hero Cop Saves Cat,” which will be quite a feat, but that’s all right.
Steve Douglas’ bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Steve. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
