Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Hareendran Kallinkeel
We’ve been especially favored by writing talent from India, and Hareendran is the latest to join that contingent. In fact, India is represented by three authors in this issue alone. If we had a story by Vishal Thapar and a poem or essay by Prakash Kona, we’d have a full house.
Hareendran lives in Kerala state. After a career as a commando in the Indian armed forces, he’s settled down to a life of — among other things — farming tropical crops. His stories have been published widely in print and on line. “A Few Ugly Humans” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize last year.
“Transcendental Meditation,” in this issue, gives us a personal look at Yama, the god of death, from a refreshingly optimistic point of view: that of justice. One might wish that Terry Pratchett’s lonely figure could say at times, like Yama, “We have a problem...”

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Hareendran. We hope to hear from you again soon and often.
