Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Thomas R. Willits
Tom has a very unusual bio sketch: it’s a kind of stream of consciousness account of having an early urge to write and then abandoning it and then coming back to it. I’m sure that every reader, let alone contributor, will nod in recognition at Tom’s experience.
“The Beyond” is Tom’s first contribution. By his account he’s worked very hard on it. And I can attest he has a fine eye for detail. Readers will surely make connections and note coincidences. The “beyond” looks like nothing so much as euhal allen’s “englobement sphere,” in The Bridge, book IV. The big difference seems to be that where euhal’s has a kind of metallic quality, Tom’s resembles a storm on Jupiter. What purpose does it serve? Stay tuned !
The first half — which ends at an appropriately suspenseful dramatic turning point — appears in this issue; the second will appear in issue 166.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Tom. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
