Beth says that her degree in religious studies has come in handy in her work as a software tester. It may explain her graciously refraining from unleashing her army of robot monkeys and taking over the world. Aw, c’mon, Beth, what’s a little more excitement these days?

Beth’s first contribution to Bewildering Stories is a small gem: “The Lemon Handlers.” It might have qualified as flash fiction, because the lemon expert’s loneliness is a given, but it qualifies as a short short story because of its adroit use of kaleidoscoping viewpoints, all of which support the main action. It shows what can be done with concise and imaginative structuring.
