Paul McManus compliments...
Kenneth Nichols’ “No Tears for Death”
“No Tears For Death” hit that perfect point where horror and science-fiction work in disturbing harmony. The build-up and explanation were brilliantly crafted so that I forgot to try to predict the end — a sure sign of a skillful short story writer.
Near the end, the sentence “An old, rickety man in a body that would live forever” really seemed to focus the disturbance and horror of the piece. Excellent!
