Bewildering Stories welcomes...
D. A. Madigan
Just a tip in advance: D. A.’s bio sketch pictures him exactly as you probably imagined him in his interior monologue in this issue about Robert A. Heinlein. It’s provocative in a friendly way. And, very likely, you’ll think, “There’s no accounting for taste...” Well, no, there isn’t; but D. A., for all his love of controversy and imagination, communicates an unmistakable personal presence. You can practically picture him waxing enthusiastic amid his towering paperbacks, comic books and... dust mites. Well, I can identify with all but the comics.
A note about bios in general: D. A. says he isn’t exactly comfortable writing about himself in the third person. Bewildering Stories has guidelines, all right, but we have none for the “bios.” As I tell all our new contributors, the bios vary widely in length, content and format. You don’t have to write one as though you were describing someone else. My own is in the first-person imaginary, although every word is the trooth.
So, now, on to D. A.’s biographical sketch.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, D. A. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
