Hermann Hesse

The author, b. July 2, 1877, d. August 9, 1962, has a world-wide reputation for his novels and short stories. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1946.

“The Jackdaw” is Michael Wooff’s translation of Die Dohle. The story depicts the antics of an extraordinarily inquisitive species of crow, one that also seems to be playfully creative.
