Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Kirk Eckstine
Kirk is an artist, photographer, filmmaker and writer living in northern Minnesota.
“A Sunday Drive in the Old Family War Wagon” satirizes 1950”s science fiction by putting a grade-school aged brother and sister in charge of an outdated piece of mobile equipment with which they combat invading Martian “tripods.” Of course, the adult whom the two kids save from the Martians is baffled by this unorthodox military operation, but he soon lends a helping hand.
Now, with one pesky Martian machine down, there are still two left. But readers will gladly allow the three Earthlings a respite in a peaceful “Sunday drive.”
