P. A. Farrell lives on the east coast of the U.S., is a psychologist and has published extensively, including self-help books.

“The Bottle Babies” will intrigue readers with its different points of view. The story begins with a familiar understanding of a small community of homeless alcoholics but, in the second half, expresses the fright of a young girl who runs a short errand in the neighborhood to bring home a treat of Chinese food. Some readers will be able to comprehend both viewpoints, but others will choose one or the other: either understanding, if not sympathy, or abject terror.
