Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
P. Fern Phillips
P. Fern grew up on a ranch, married a physics major, and pursued a career in information and document management. She has been active in writers’ lists and groups and has published three novels at NaNoWriMo and has more works ready to be self-published.
“The God of Chickens” was inspired, the author reports, by the story of Maximon, a “rather unsavoury god who chain-smokes cigarettes” as well as the parable of the vineyard in Mark 12:1-12. The literary history may help explain the character Louise’s isolation and embitterment at being mistreated.
