J. T. says he went from high-school drop-out to combat in Iraq and Afghanistan to his present profession as a physician apparently engaged in data analysis. He credits his sanity to his family and to writing.

“Roswell” goes back to Roswell, a now almost mythical place where space aliens were said to have been discovered and kept secret. In so doing, the story confirms a science-fictional adage: “If space aliens are anything like humans, be afraid, very afraid. If they’re not, take precautions anyway.” But what if the Roswell space aliens turned out to be real? They would do well to consider carefully why humans are so cautious.
