Bewildering Stories biography
Born in 1962, I came up in a time when science fiction, fantasy and horror were blossoming, and fell in love with them all. Initially, I read a lot of Isaac Asimov and Arthur C Clarke, in addition to about a zillion comic books. The 1940s being not too far in the past, I also devoured the history of World War Two.
Under the tutelage of my older brother Brian, I was exposed to the wonders of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, the Cthulhu Mythos, Tolkien, old black and white horror movies and the awesomeness of Hammer Films.
My family was of American Indian descent but knew virtually nothing of that part of our lineage. I was enthralled and have learned what I can, which also helped me see what I believe to be a dovetail of the scientific and religious views of reality and the beginning of the universe. I am still baffled why the two views are so polarizing.
I enjoy role-playing games, board games etc. and attend and volunteer at many science fiction conventions. For many years I was the Convention Chair of www.miscon.org. I also write, and Bewildering Stories is the first to publish any of my work, for which I am very grateful.
I am from Columbus, Ohio and will always be a Buckeye at heart, though I have lived in Montana for almost three decades. When indoors I click away at my desk, which looks out onto a beautiful view, and am usually sipping coffee or tea. A lot of the happiness in my life, and success as a fledgling author, derives from the love and support of my roommate and our dog Tindal and cat East..
