Bewildering Stories biography
I’m a native of the Kansas City area and forty years a cop, including 25 years as a Special Agent, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, U.S. Treasury Department. During the last fifteen years with ATF, I was assigned to the bomb and arson squad, Dallas, but often traveled to fire and bomb related crime across the country.
After retiring from ATF, I worked by contract with an initials-only agency which provided a whole new experience. During that period, I also became a licensed private investigator, specializing in fire and explosive claims for insurance companies throughout the U.S.
For several years, I have been an Associate Editor and Member of the Review Board of Bewildering Stories magazine. BwS has published over seventy short fiction pieces and a novel, The Dead Bin. In addition, I have published over fifty short fiction pieces with various additional venues, including Spinetingler, Broadkill Review, Yellow Mama, The Boston Literary Review, and Shotgun Honey. In 1988, Paperjacks of New York published my novel in national paperback, Burn Sugar Burn.
